Senate EnCon approves Grannis nomination

The Senate Environmental Conservation committee (EnCon) has approved Pete Grannis' nomination as DEC Commissioner. EnCon approved the nomination in a secret vote, with six senators voting to approve, three against, and two who voted "no recommendation." The next hurdle for Mr. Grannis will be the Senate Finance Committee. At this point, that committee is not scheduled to meet this week. Should they approve his nomination, the matter will be brought to the Senate floor for a full house vote.
