Darrel J. Aubertine (D) has defeated Will Barclay (R) in a special election for the 48th Senate District. With this victory, the Republican majority in the State Senate is now just two seats over the Democrats. Click Read More for further information and links.

Republicans have held the State Senate for nearly four decades. While SELENE is party-neutral, the light pollution bill has been blocked by Senate Republicans every year for the past eight years. A change in power could bring an end to our nearly decade long struggle to bring more sensible lighting to NY State.
